Dear Mother Nature,
Thank you for reminding us of who you are. The mountains, the trees, the warm weather and of course our gorgeuos lake remind us how much you love us! But, every once in awhile, we for get that you need to keep us on our toes with a little demonstration of "TOUGH LOVE!" Sunday night's storm show cased your power and severed as another reminder of why we must show our love back by protecting you and all that you have given.
Thanks for keeping the cable park safe, for the most part. I know that to send your message we had to be a part of it. We want you to know that those 85 km + winds you left the systems and obsticales in tact, although those 'big ass' five foot waves did fill up one of our boats to which it's bilge could simply not keey up. We wanted you to know as well that no fuel or environmental damage happened as a result. I am my team stayed up all night and day to clean up beach and area in just one day. You did cost me some serious dock space, furnature, broken trees, busted signs, some board equipment, not to mention all my dock tents look a 1980's pack og metal Kinex put together by a 1 year old.
I don't blame you...I hear you! That's why we built this place! Despite the news reports, we cleaned it all up in a day, but it will take a lot longer to replace. I guess it is a small price to pay for you to remind us that you are not to happy sometimes with how you are being treated.
I do want you to know we are doing out part! To date, we have over 7000 riders have enjoyed wakeboarding, surfing, waterskiing, wakeskating, bodysurfing, and tubing; and when compared to a boat that needs 5 gallons of gas for just one 1 rider for a 20-30 min set, both our systems use just 5 gallons a day for up to 80 riders for 20-30 min. And oh ya, did we forget to mention the reoxigination of the water which has helped resotre fish habitats to the area...and oh ya, did I mention the reduction in for shore erosion from reduced wake size normally caused by boats, and oh ya, the is no direct water pollution because our motors are electric sitting above the service with no dripping, exhaust or emissions, and ....well, you get the idea. Yes, we still have work to do and can always improve methods and magement practices, but its a start.
Sometimes we are need to remember, we are likely the most powerful force in Nature, next to Mom.
